Probably answered at:

https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/customize-sidebar-widgets-only-for-select-pages/

But, to confirm:

I want to have zero widgets in the right sidebar on some pages, and one of a set of different widgets on the right side bar on other pages.

E.G.

most pages: no widget
missile command page: subscription widget for the blueprints
bio-lab page: subscription widget for PDF listing useful reagents that can be bought at Piggly Wiggly

I've installed the widget shortcode plugin on your advice (works, thanks!)

Is the plugin you tout on the page linked above useful in addition?

Thanks,

Jud

Hi there,

So you only have one set of widgets that need to be displayed in pages that have sidebar activated?

Then it might be easier to choose the Content (No Sidebar) for the global setting: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/

Then overwrite it on the pages where you want the sidebar using the metabox:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/#different-sidebar-layouts-for-individual-pages-and-posts

If you want to show conditional sidebar contents then plugin is the way to go. Our new recommendation is this one though: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/

This looks great. I'll try out your ideas.

Thanks, Leo!

No problem!
