wpml translated elements do not show

Hi,
I have elements installed as a hook for footer and header (display whole site) and I have a multilingual sites using wpml plugin. I translated the elements into another language and it shows they are connected to another language. Both elements, English and German are shown on the whole site (since I cannot select German or English pages). As I understand, it should work automatically if an element is translated into the other language, doesn´it? What might be the problem here?
