Tiles

Hi Elvin,
I downloaded GenerateBlocks and am going through the learning curve. Question:
I am pulling images from Unsplash. The images will go in the tiles (blocks). How do I make sure that they all have the same dimensions: width and height?
Do I set the dimensions when cropping the images from Unsplash or do I set the dimensions within GeneratePress?
Thanks !
John
Do I set the dimensions when cropping the images from Unsplash
You can either do that or edit the images in the media library:

Super fast, Leo.
Let me try that.
Thanks !
John
No problem :)
I'm not real good at this, Leo.
I'm having problems changing the width.
I tried 1024 x 427.
The images then go crazy, totally distorted.
What am I doing wrong?
What is the exact issue?

I think I just figured it out, Leo.
I found an online tool which enables me to resize.
Let me continue working on this.
I'll get back to you.
Thanks !
John
Sounds good :)
And thanks to Elvin, also !

Hi David,
I figured things out. Thanks !

Question:
Early on in our correspondence you asked if I intended to use images (currently the case) or drawings (my word, you used another which I cannot recall). What was the word you used? What would be an alternative to pulling images from Unsplash?
As you might recall I address foundational topics: communication, decision making, feedback, process, etc. Regardless of what countries I address (currently Germany and USA), I'll always address such foundational topics.
Maybe there are "drawings" out there that would be more effective than images pulled from Unsplash.

Hi John,
looks great !
I recall a conversation we had regarding: Featured Image
That special image holder in WordPress which can be added like so:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-featured-images/
Was that it?
If you're after drawings then maybe unDraw is the way to go:
https://undraw.co/illustrations
Note: It may require a little more work then simply downloading an image and uploading to WP. You may need to use a photo editing app to size them etc.
That was fast. Thanks, David.
Not Featured Image. You helped me with that prior.
Yes, it was something akin to unDraw.
I'll surf the web for options.
But for now there are very professional
images for free on the web. And I can change
them up every quarter.
Thanks, David !
John
Maybe it was SVG images - which is the format that unDraw provides. They also provide a PNG Option.
NOTE: to upload SVG images on a WordPress website you need to install this plugin:
Got it. Thanks, David. Very helpful.
I do my best to limit the use of plugins.
Another reason, for now, to stay with images.
