We’re new to GeneratePress and the Elements section has been a challenge.

After having followed the how-to video on your website, the header is supposed to be for single posts, and it is not displaying as the video even after following the video properly.

Can you help to better understand what might be happening? I have taken all of the pre-question steps (clear caches, deactivate plugins, etc) to no avail. Thank you!

    Hi Reaganmar,

To clarify, do you have your Header Elements display rules locatation set to Posts – All posts as such: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Wnu7pJeP

If you want, you can provide temporary login credentials, and we can check what’s the issue.

You may use the private information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information

Side note, if you’re referring to creating a Page Hero, the more recent way of creating a Page Hero, and in my opinion – the easiest approach, is to use a Block Element Page Hero: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/

Hope to hear from you soon.

We did opt to use WPBakery as a page builder for this website, but after having disabled that in my testing, it didn’t appear to be the cause of the issue.

So I opted to go with the Elements > Header option and did set the display rules to show on all posts, but no matter what it wouldn’t display. I was just trying to mimic the page headers I had built in WPBakery by using the Merge option.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi there,

Header Elements are a bit of a legacy thing that has some oddities. For example: there can only be one of them loaded on any one page. So the Transparent Navigation Header Element, i assume was added first and is therefore taking control.

There a few ways to go about this, but i see you’re using Classic Editor, so the next steps are:

    1. Edit the Transparent Navigation element.
In the Display Rules -> Exclusion add: Post > All Posts

    2. Then Edit your Blog Hero set up the Site Headers as you require them, and on the Page Hero tab, be sure to add some Top and Bottom padding to create some height for your hero.
