[Resolved] Right Sidebar "stuck" widgets

Hi,

I am having an issue with my Right Side Bar. I have deleted all the widgets from the Right Side Bar but 2 widgets still show up in a live view of the page (Search and Archives). If I add a widget to the Right Side Bar these 2 disappear. But when I delete this new widget from the Right Side Bar the other 2 widgets reappear. Strange right? Have you ever seen this before?

Hi Mark,

Those two widgets are inserted by default to fill the space when there are no widgets added by the user.

Are you trying to achieve a specific layout? We can probably find a better/alternative solution.

Yep, if you don’t want any widgets to display, you can remove the sidebar completely: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/

Well dang, I didn’t even see that in customize. I guess I had turned that off and didn’t realize it in my other sites. This one I was turning it off one by one on each page. Duh… ok thanks Tom!
