Is there a way to achieve this post layout using GB or WPSHOWPOSTS?

In the link, you can see that the posts undernath the page header comprise of two separate elements. Firstly there is the linked image on the left and the second linked text block on the right with the button.
Underneath there is the same two block structure except vertical.
WPSHOWPOSTS would be adequate, but the heading element is not a separate block type element from the image. Any ideas?

So would this be one list with the first post having the full width style?
It should be possible in WPSP. Can you link me to a page with a WPSP with the "featured post" option checked in the Columns section of the settings?
