I'd like more than four posts in Blog Masonry layout

I'm using the Blog layout with masonry option turned on for my home page. It works well, and I am going to change the parameters to display more posts in the grid layout by making each one smaller. (More columns and fewer words in each excerpt.) But when I do this, it only displays FOUR post/excerpts, leaving a lot of empty space in the lower part of the page. How can I adjust and control the number of posts that are displayed in the blog/masonry layout? Thanks!

That would be in the WordPress reading setting:

The Blog pages show at most setting should be what you are looking for.
