Adam
I would like to place a section with a full-width image at the top of my blog posts and still retain my site sidebar in the blog post below.
After reading this thread (https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/full-width-image-blog-post/) I understand I have to create an additional section below the image section and copy-paste the text of the blog post into it.
I have set the sidebar layout as “content/sidebar”, but the text spans the full width of the container.
Is there any way I can place a full-width image above a blog post and retain my sidebar?
Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
If I understand this correctly, you should be able to use our page header add-on:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-header-overview/You can assign one to blog page: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-header-global-locations/
Let me know if this is what you are after π

Hi Leo, thank you for your response.
I am already using your header add-on to add the headline and byline to the top of the page, set against a white background. But the header add-on doesn’t allow me to place the image in *the space below* the headline. The header add-on superimposes a headline on top of an image or on top of a band of color. I want my headline on the very top portion of the post, set against white space. In the space below that, I want a full width image. And in the space below that I want text/sidebar. If you look at URL I pasted in my original post, the top of the post is laid out the way I want it.
The issue I am having is with the bottom of the post with text. The section with text doesn’t allow me to retain a sidebar.
Also, I noticed the comments disappear if I use sections.
Is that layout possible with GeneratePress Premium–with comments?
Thanks,

StaffCustomer SupportAhh I see. Unfortunately that layout is currently not possible using sections.
You can allow sidebar on sections: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/allow-sidebars-sections/ but can’t specify where you want the sidebar to appear/start.
As for comments, Phil here actually came up with a solution: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/comments-using-sections/#post-325331
