Do you intend to have the Header Merged in the About page as well?
You currently have a Header Element for this page, and the Header Background color there is transparent. You can set a Background color in this Element through Appearance > Elements > Merged Header.
You may also exclude this page from the Display rules, and that should allow the color in the customizer to work.
Let us know.

Thanks – didn’t really mean to do that if causing an issue – not sure how that happens… I basically want to reset it all so that there is a header across the site for now – may change eventually – but then have the feature image on the blog posting page. Does that make sense?

Are you referring to Single Post pages? May we know how you would like the Featured Images to look like in Single Post pages?
For one, we can tackle the Header issue first. In the Merge Header Element, can you try to set the Display rule location to just the Front Page?

Thanks for the rely. For the featured image – referring to single post, yes and just under the title of the posting.
For header – i can set that up for sure – navigation looks odd on the blog post now…

I fixed the navigation issue I think…

StaffCustomer SupportI got a bit lost in this topic, just want to be clear, are you trying to achieve the below results?
1. Keep the page hero for static pages.
2. Remove the page hero for single post pages.
If so, go to appearance > elements> Global Header, add
post > all postsin the exclude list along with thefront page, then publish the element.Let me know if that works.

Thanks very much – almost there I think!!
One more odd question… I seem to have the feature image for post set as the header on the blog page – any idea how to adjust this one? https://shawnryder.com/blog/
Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportThe blog page hero is also using the
Global Headerblock element, you can’t adjust it separately only for the blog page. The solution would be to create a new block element and assign it only to the
blogand add theblogto the exclude list of theGlobal Headerblock element. -
