I would like to change the blogroll’s next navigation into something that people can see easier. Something like this.
I cannot see a way to do this at present.

    Thank you

    Hi there,

that link doesn’t work, as its an /wp-admin link so can’t be seen without a login. Can you share a different link ?

Thank you for your reply, I am on the other side of the world from you so, responses will be delayed.

I can share a link to someone else’s site that shows what type of navigation I am looking for – will that work?

At the bottom of this page Fratello has a page navigation that is black and gray boxes with arrows. This is what I am looking for

This is what I currently have for page navigation.

At the bottom of this page, there is 1 2…6 – but it is small and easily missed. I have added a button for the next post, but it is not what we are looking for.

Yesterday after watching the GP video from Leo, I added the Next and Previous buttons to the bottom of each blog post. But we are really looking for the navigation I show above from the Fratello site. Also that does not show up on the home page.

    Hi Alexander,

Yes, sharing a link that has the design you’re aiming for would be helpful.

I can’t see the link to the “Fratello” site though.

    Can you re-share it?

    Crap,

    The Fratello site is here.

    Hopefully, that works.

I see. Well, the best recommendation we could give is to replace the WPSP list with a GenerateBlocks Query Loop Block.

WPSP has already been merged with GenerateBlocks. See here: https://wpshowposts.com/weve-made-the-decision-to-merge-wp-show-posts-with-generateblocks/

For the GB Query Loop Block, you can add pagination through the toolbar. Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/E0uZDO4E

Thanks for the screen recording. I will replicate it. Somehow, I missed that WPSP was merging with GB. I already have a GB Pro license, so I should be good to go. I just need to restructure my page using the GB Query loop.

If I have issues, I will get back to you. Thanks for the support. In theory, this resolves my issue, but, if it’s ok with you I will leave the topic open until I get sorted.

I have created the pagination and it looks great on preview. I placed it at the bottom of the blog page.
Sorry for the delay, I thought I submitted a response 3 days ago with this information. But apparently it did not go through.

When active on the site the pagination does not appear. It looks like it appears on mobile – but does not work. Then once you go to the next page it disappears. The default pagination does appear, but I have disabled it in Appearance/customize/layout/blog/single. But it still works.

I am unsure if I need to redo the front page and get rid of WP show posts to make this work, or, something completely different.

    Please advise.

How specifically did you create the pagination?

Can you take a screenshot of that? Uploading Screenshots: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#uploading-screenshots

I created the pagination using the GB query block loop following the screen capture provided above in this thread. The only difference was I created it on the blog page of the theme not a test page.
I am not able to do the screenshots at present, but I will once back. If that does not work then please provide an email so I can create a temporary login for you.

    Thank you.

I believe you’re still using WPSP on your front page. I’m not seeing the Query Loop Block.

Ok, so if I am still using WSP on my front page and on my blog page, then the query loop navigation will not show up – is that correct?

    No, that’s incorrect.

    It will still show up.

However, the reason why it isn’t showing up is that the Query Loop Block isn’t querying anything.

You need to Query from your Query Loop Block enough for the pagination to work.

Take note that the pagination will only work for the Query Loop Block and not the WPSP list.

I am attempting to recreate my home page using query loop so I have a featured article and then a post loop template. Then I will add post navigation to this new page. I cannot select the post that I want to use as a featured post. The search query does not see it.

There are only a few posts available to select from. I have tried to type in the post title even the post number from wp with the title but it does not work. Generate blocks apparently are aware of this problem as they have a ticket that has been open for 2 months about it.

I cannot change my front page until this is sorted. This means I suppose, that I am stuck with the WSP for now.
