To whom this may concern,
Please note I am not a web developer.
Could you please help me with removing whitespace & setting the typeface/font style without an additional plugin? More details are below.
Regarding whitespace:
I would like the padding / white space minimised or removed above & below on our homepage header & below the image carousel. I have checked the settings on the Customise page & all padding above & below our header is ‘0’.Regarding typeface – font style:
Also, while presenting the website to my boss today I noticed that the Google Fonts plugin settings do not apply to Apple iPhones(?).I would like to match the font of the website with the business branding I have been given, so that all text on the website is in ‘Arial’ (as with Google Fonts the website text on the iPhone was appearing as ‘Times New Roman’, etc.).
I will provide the website URL in the Private Information section (& remove the Coming Soon Mode).
Kind regards,
L.A.

Can you remove the Coming soon/maintenance mode temporarily?
Let’s tackle the spacing first.

My apologies! I have just removed the Coming Soon page for you & yes to tackling the whitespace 1st 🙂
Kind regards,

August 2, 2022 at 12:14 am #2300420Fernando Customer SupportThe whitespace is coming from a div with this class
angelleye_pp_message_home
. Did you add this through a custom HTML or is it from a plugin? Moreover, in Customize > Layout > Container, try setting the top padding to a lower value as well.
August 2, 2022 at 10:50 pm #2301492locate-australianHi Fernando,
The whitespace caused from a div’ I think comes from a plugin (an Angell Eye PayPal plugin).
Thank you regarding your instructions for adjusting the padding. I was able to reduce the content padding (from 40 to 20) but the header whitespace was not affected. Do you know how I can adjust the whitespace around the header image – the business logo?
Kind regards,
L.A.
August 2, 2022 at 10:55 pm #2301495Fernando Customer SupportYou’re welcome!
With regards to the logo, there’s no top and bottom spacing in that area anymore. The site logo image itself has whitespace.

Oh! Thank you for your help & feedback re: logo. I will crop the logo & re-upload it to the header then.
Kind regards,
L.A.

August 3, 2022 at 9:30 pm #2302726locate-australianP.S. Are you still able to help with changing the typeface for the website?
The site currently uses Google Fonts to change the typeface of the website to ‘Arial’ (instead of standard(?)‘Times New Roman’), but the Google Fonts settings do not seem to be applied to Apple devices when viewing the website.
Your help would be most appreciated.
Kind regards,
L.A.
August 3, 2022 at 9:36 pm #2302728Fernando Customer SupportTo clarify, are you setting the Font through the typography module?
August 4, 2022 at 12:05 am #2302864locate-australianHi Fernando,
Yes, I think so. I have just checked & the font typeface set for Customize > Typography & applicable section is set to the correct typeface: Century Gothic (I’m sorry, I think I said it was ‘Arial’) but displays differently on Apple iPhones.
Do you know what I can do so that Century Gothic to appear as the typeface on Apple iPhones, across all devices?
Kind regards,
L.A.
August 4, 2022 at 12:34 am #2302906Fernando Customer SupportHave you tried viewing the site on a different iPhone? I tried on an iPhone 13 and it seems to be using Century Gothic as well. Perhaps it’s a device caching issue?
August 4, 2022 at 7:19 pm #2303767locate-australianHi Fernando,
Yes, I have viewed the site on my boss’s husband’s iPhone & my iPhone 12 for both Google Chrome & Safari browsers, but I don’t have the problem on my Windows 11 laptop.
I know Apple does not like Google anything so my thoughts are that the iPhones do not accept Google Fonts settings, but then again the font typeface is listed in the Theme settings which is not Google related.
I will also inquire with our hosting provider to check the issue is not cache related & if they know why the typeface differs between devices.
Your help & insight into this matter is most appreciated.
Kind regards,
L.A.
August 4, 2022 at 8:41 pm #2303795locate-australianHi Fernando,
I have just checked with our hosting provider & the staff member viewed our website & sent me a screenshot from his Mac computer, which displayed the wrong, default typeface as well.
Long story short, after another test the hosting provider informed me that the issue is not related to caching or hosting, but that it was website related & that I need to contact a professional developer.
I am using a Child Theme & I did a bit more thinking before discovering that the typeface setting in Google Fonts was not set to ‘Century Gothic’, I have since updated all font selections to Century Gothic & all except text except for the button text appears on my iPhone, yay!
Do you know how I can update the text on our buttons to Century Gothic instead of the default?
Kind regards,
L.A.
Do
August 4, 2022 at 8:52 pm #2303802Fernando Customer SupportThat’s good to hear! Which buttons are we referring to? Can you provide a link where I can find a sample button?
