Hi!
The site is being developed offline on WAMP server. I cannot update the GP Premium plugin.
I already tried to apply this fix, but it doesn’t work:
This is what pops up during the update:
An error occurred while updating GP Premium: Could not create directory. gp-premium/addons/generate-page-header/functions/cmb2/css
Thank you for your help!
October 30, 2015 at 10:09 am #148986TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
That’s odd – I know this was happening on Windows/Plesk servers at one point.
Not being able to create a directory usually means there’s permission issues with the server (WP not being allowed to modify files).
You may just want to manually update for now and see if that fixes the issue for the next update.
Let me know if you need more info π
November 1, 2015 at 3:05 pm #149587DavidTom: I’m experiencing a similar issue for GP Premium upgrade, receiving the message, “An error occurred while updating GP Premium: Download failed. Unauthorized” for my site hosted on WP Engine. I am upgrading from 1.2.71 to 1.2.74. I am on WP 4.3.1.
Thanks for any suggestions.

November 2, 2015 at 1:04 am #149677heliosmpHi Tom – Other plugins update normally (today’s GeneratePress theme update also went smoothly). How can I manually update the GP Premium plugin?
Thank you for your help.
November 2, 2015 at 1:22 am #149679TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperAre you getting the unauthorized error message?: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/an-error-occurred-while-updating-download-failed-unauthorized/#post-146895
November 2, 2015 at 1:51 am #149699heliosmpNo, I am getting this message:
I tried the fix that you provided – but it doesn’t work.
Other plugins update normally, so it cannot be a WP permission issue.Thank you for your help!
November 2, 2015 at 8:24 am #149788DavidThank you, Tom, the above-referenced steps did work. For reference of others, I did have to activate / de-activate my email a couple of times before it took. But it did take, and I was able to update the plugins.
The great GP support is much appreciated!
David

Glad it worked, David! π
November 3, 2015 at 12:44 am #149990heliosmp@Tom – Can you advise me how to manually update the plugin?
Thank you.EDIT: I figured it out. I followed this steps:
1. Download a fresh copy of GP Premium: https://generatepress.com/account
2. Delete the current copy from your website
3. Upload and activate the fresh copyIt didn’t broke my settings as I thought it would.
Thank you – now it works! π
