Not sure how you define popular posts but you could consider using a plugin like WP Show Posts:
https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-show-posts/If that doesn’t work then you’d need a find a popular posts plugin – unfortunately I don’t have a recommendation for that.
