Hello
I have installed the latest version of the theme, but when I enter my license, on top of the page the following error appears:
“cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds”Please advise

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you check with your host that they can reach
generatepress.comNovember 20, 2019 at 10:24 am #1068830Amin
I had a chat with my hosting (InMotion) and there shouldn’t be any issues

StaffCustomer SupportThe issue is server related.
So could be the version of PHP or cURL. Need to increase PHP Memory Limit. A mod_security rule. Your host should be able to pin down the problem.November 21, 2019 at 12:14 am #1069770Amin
They didn’t seem to get that.
Can you please do me a favour and explain it in technical terms so I can pass on the issue to them?
As when I simply tell them that I get a connection timeout when applying a license, they respond saying that is software related. What should I ask them to check exactly?November 21, 2019 at 4:21 am #1070189Leo
StaffCustomer SupportAsk for the PHP version and cURL version.
This post should offer some info here:

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt’s likely that your server firewall is blocking the communication. Your hosting tech support can find more details on the issue throughout this topic: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/curl-error-28/
If they can confirm our IP isn’t blocked, we can make sure your server IP isn’t blocked on our end if you can share it with us.

Here’s their response:
I’m not seeing that the IP for generatepress.com, 35.193.232.176 isn’t showing as blocked on the server. Is there a more exact IP that you’re wanting to check? Or, can we create a temporary WordPress user, and if so, what are the exact steps in order to replicate that license error?
The IP address for your site is 192.145.239.206

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
Can you try now? I’ve asked our server admin to allow that IP.
Let me know 🙂

Yes it now worked! Seems like that was the issue.
ThanksNovember 23, 2019 at 8:14 am #1073933Tom
