What are basic settings for showing grid of posts on homepage?

I just purchased GeneratePress Premium for an existing site I have, which I have listed below in the website url spot.
I am wanting to display my posts in a grid on my homepage. In "Customize," I have chosen "front page displays latest posts."
I think I am totally missing something, as my entire posts are being shown on my homepage, rather than just excerpts in a grid style, and I don't know how to go about getting my posts to show in a grid, with just the post title and an excerpt of each post.
Do I, instead of choosing "display latest posts" on front page, need to maybe create a homepage and set that to a static page instead of latest posts, and then use some type of widget or building block to add posts to that static page?
I am pretty experienced with wordpress, but can't figure this out. Any help would be much appreciated. Do I maybe need to purchase something such as elementor?
Totally lost at this point. Thanks!
Hi there,
Those options are currently here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/blog-overview/
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-columns-in-the-blog/
However I would highly recommend GP premium 1.5 beta: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/gp-premium-1-5/
It gives you a lot more blog page options in there and makes everything a lot easier to configure.
Let me know :)
