You might consider increasing your sub-menu width a little:
.main-navigation ul ul { width: 220px; }
It will fix the arrow being on a separate line.
October 27, 2016 at 11:08 am #239447DaniThank you for the code, Tom. Yes, looks much better now!!! π

October 28, 2016 at 10:47 am #239687KarimHello Tom,
Another work made with your piece of art: http://www.theoriestation.nl/
There is something wrong though with the site. When i do a speed test with https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ i got a 25/32 score. That was even after i used autoptimize plugin. Before that it was 20/30. I never saw it so low. But when i surf on the site itself, it doesn’t seem that slow.
Do you know whats going on behind the screen.
Am sorry this is a site showcase and support in one lol
Thanks in advance
October 28, 2016 at 11:08 am #239694TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperLooks good!
Google Page Speed is flawed, but this article should help: https://generatepress.com/fastest-wordpress-theme/
October 28, 2016 at 12:31 pm #239718KarimThanks, yeah i like it too:)
So you say nothing is wrong? When i use pingdom, the first load takes 3 seconds, then the second one and the others after (cause of caching) stay below the second, so that is quite good i say.
I followed your steps for optimizing speed. Only the async plugin gave me errors, so deleted it. There are also few new options in that plugin i think, compared to the printscreen of yours.
Thanks:)
October 28, 2016 at 4:13 pm #239756TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperNo problem! If you need more help with the speed stuff feel free to open a new topic π
October 29, 2016 at 1:19 pm #239931SebastianHi Karim,
your site looks really good!
But when I look at the listed issues at PageSpeed Insights, I honestly understand why your score is relatively low. Don’t get me wrong but I have never seen so much scroll bars, especially related to JavaScript. π Tons of scripts are loaded seperately. But that’s the other side of extensively extending a websites function.
When it works fine, don’t take the PSI results too important.
Keep up your good work.
October 29, 2016 at 1:46 pm #239934KarimHi Sebastian,
Thanks for the compliment and the feedback.
I am not that much into coding, but i understand what you mean. Am also not sure what happened yesterday, but suddenly my site performed much better. The first load takes a couple seconds, but after that each new page opens in a blink of an eye.
I used a optimize plugin for the javascript now. Do you see any improvements? And what you mean with “much scroll bars”
Am always happy to learn if you dont mind:)
Thanks.
October 29, 2016 at 3:16 pm #239947SergioHere is the website i made for my mother. She is an artist. It is a minimalistic portfolio website. I used GP premuim + Elementor + The Grid.
But Elementor throws this error sometimes:
“Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call the_content function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”I usually happens when i try to edit the home page. Any idea?
Cheers!
October 29, 2016 at 9:56 pm #239964TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperNice site! Love the minimalism.
Not sure about the error, your home page is a regular page, so
the_content()
is definitely in use.October 30, 2016 at 7:50 am #240068Martin GehringHi, here is the website I made with GP Premium:
