Time to show off! I ported our popular Bayern Munich blog to Generatepress and I love the speed, while retaining a colourful, pretty design π

Not so much a “showcase site” but more of a “how-to” using GeneratePress, Simple CSS, Insert Pages and the free, lite version of the Beaver Builder plugin.

Sorry Tom, Sniffle Valve is still DWB and Genesis π But anything new or rebuilt is GP! π
Cheers!

Hi Lyle,
Awesome site at http://goodcheapfastwebsites.com/. Like you, I’m transitioning away from Genesis and converting to GP. I also use BB for my sites. Here are a couple of questions for you:1. Do you use the Rows feature more for vertical pages, or do you use BB instead? Just a preference question.
2. Do you create child themes for GP? I know that it’s advisable, but not sure if you find it necessary since updates don’t overwrite the site like Genesis. Or is that not accurate?
I should probably start up another forum for this, so my apologies for the faux-pas.
Thanks!

Hi Pablo,
Thanks! π
In 1. are you referring to the GP Sections (rows)? If so, nope, it’s all BB. I was more familiar with BB than the GP Sections as this is the first live site I did with GP.
As for 2. I do not use a child theme for GP as I make no changes or additions to any of the theme files, notably functions.php. I do use Tom’s fantastic Simple CSS plugin for CSS and of course, that is update-safe. I specifically asked Tom about this but I am too lazy to look up the post π His reply was basically what I am doing; if it’s just CSS, then no, a child theme is not necessary.
Cheers!

Here is my latest work with GeneratePress: http://eyeroskilde.dk
It’s a Danish site for an eye clinic.
I’ve made heavy use of SiteOrigin Page Builder on this one. The mobile menu is made with ShiftNav.
