Great debugging – yes the Woo Widgets are part of the Woocommerce plugin.
It might be worth raising an Issue on the Woocommerce GitHub, to see if there guys can provide some insight on the issue. Thanks for letting us know!
October 24, 2021 at 3:52 pm #1973940GeneratePressUserHey David,
Woocommerce support is the worst, just check their other plugins:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-paypal-payments/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/
You can see the reviews, I asked their team to help for this coz Divi not loading and their reply was this:
I am sorry but this product you referenced is not a WooCommerce.com product, it was purchased from Elegant Themes and we have no association with that site. You will need to contact them for help with your issue, and you can contact their product support team here: https://www.elegantthemes.com/contact/
The only way to access our support would be to purchase a product from our site.
Their support is always weird, also their those plugins which I shared up have bugs and they too are pending on their end to be solved already I have reported them, on backend you will see in payment methods when editing order 2 times paypal, stripe wont be visible it shows as paypal lol.
I am using now 4 versions older plugin of stripe and it works perfect.
No idea being multi billion $ company too they are like this.
Can you pls tell us that if we want to move and customise woocommerce pages like cart, checkout etc then is using a page builder like Elementor better option and do you guys have full compatibility with Elementor?
October 24, 2021 at 4:07 pm #1973949DavidStaffCustomer SupportYou can raise issues here on their GitHub:
https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce
You might be better getting Divi involved. Between Elegant Themes and Automattic they should be able to look deeper at the issue.
Regarding Elementor – yes, i believe you can do all the things that Divi can regarding Woo pages.
Regarding Compatibility – as you discovered here there will be some issues that are not theme related, we can’t account for these kinds of issues that may crop up. Whatever method Divi uses to swap out templates may be the same method that Elementor uses which could lead to similar problems… the only thing i could say is that Elementor may be a little more procactive in assisting with finding and debugging the issue.October 24, 2021 at 4:14 pm #1973953GeneratePressUserHey David,
Yes, I get it, I have opened the issue over there, I am not that familiar with github but I have given you link in private box, just once can you check and tell if I have done it right.
Thanks a lot for your help so far π
October 24, 2021 at 4:19 pm #1973957DavidStaffCustomer Supportlooks good to me – one suggestion – if you can make the error occur on the a core WP theme eg. TwentyTwenty and provide a screenshot of the error_log – as you did for GP, and attach that to your Issue, it will give them a little more to work on.
Any info you can add to help them replicate the issue and show it fails on a core theme would be a good thing π
October 24, 2021 at 4:22 pm #1973958GeneratePressUserHey David,
Got it, thanks a lot, and sorry for the trouble actually earlier when we were switching from Generate Press to Twenty Twenty theme since the woocommerce recent product reviews widget was kept in footer widget 2, and the Twenty Twenty just has 1 footer so the 2nd widget data it used to shift in inactive widgets, that’s the reason the issue was there in generatepress theme and not showing up on the default theme.
Thanks to elegant themes too coz their developer pointed out those logs and told it’s some issue with Woo.
Hope they solve it, until then we have stopped using the widget as it was not that important.
I will mark the topic as resolved, have a great week and stay safe π
