Hello GP Team,
I am having problem with my website. I am getting this error "There has been a critical error on this website." I am not sure if this is generatepress or generateblocks problem but when I placed a heading or just a colored container on a page this error comes out. It works fine in "Preview in a tab" but when I view the actual page link it shows the error. I tried disabling generateblocks the error goes away. I also tried making a footer hook block element with generateblocks, the element works fine its just when I start to putting containers, heading, etc on the body the error comes out.
Hi Samiline,
Have you tried #1 here?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/
Let us know how it goes.
Yes I tried it. All I have activated are the generatepress and generateblocks plugins. Still the same error. What should I do next?
Hi there,
can you share a link to your site ?
Hello David,
I'll send it via private information tab.
What happens if you:
1. disable the Coming Soon plugin
2. go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes.... this will regenerate permalinks in case they got a bit messed up.
Then retry editing viewing a page.
I tried what you said. There is still no luck with the error. Disabling generateblocks though loads the website.
Hi there,
Can you go to appearance > themes, and change to a Twenty Twenty-One theme to test?
Let me know!
Hello Ying,
Error is still the same with the twenty twenty-One theme activated. What should I do next?
Have you tried reinstalling GenerateBlocks?
Yes I also tried reinstalling Generateblocks plugin. Still not working.
To clarify, if you disable just GenerateBlocks, does the error disappear? Can you try it, and we’ll view the site from our end?
Can you check your error_log (or ask your hosting to) – are there any big errors in there?
Hey, I got something. I tried it again with just a headline in a container the generateblocks works but when I place padding or margin on the container it goes back with an error.
Yes, the error disappear when generateblocks is disabled. Kindly view it now. https://employerhero.co/
I see. Can you check the error log?
Also check in Tools > Site Health if there’s any error or warning.
