Switched Theme to Generate Press & Lost Traffic - What to do?

Hi,
Since 2018 I was running https://hashimashi.com using the Genesis child theme Parallax-Pro.
A couple of months, in Mid February ago I switched the theme to Generate Press and lost half of my traffic.
I left GP up hoping that the traffic would recover, but after two weeks, I switched back to Parallax-Pro.
However, I still prefer to move to GP if possible.

Is there any possibility of looking at my staging site running GP and my production site running Parallax pro with the hope of identifying what I might have done wrong?

The only thing I thought might have been a problem was that in the production theme I have dashboard > settings > reading > blog pages show at most 5 posts (and I had about 90 pages), and for the GP theme, I changed that setting to 18 (now only having 27 pages).

So I thought perhaps google could no longer find those URLs that had been on pages > 27.

Thank you,
Rich

Hi Rich,

It's really difficult for us to tell why this would be happening.

When it comes to your organic traffic – GeneratePress (or any theme) won’t have a huge effect on this. Your content is the #1 factor when it comes to SEO, not your theme. The only thing a theme can do is ensure that your site is loading as fast as possible (from the theme end of things).
