At the moment it’s in localhost, but I’ve done some more experimentation, and whether I put the shortcode in Page Headers or in a page the result is the same – there is a blank space created on the page where the slideshow should be – but no slideshow. Here is the full console error list:

I know that Smart Slider works with GPPremium but this page mentions that the placement of the jQuery call in a custom theme could be the problem. Maybe that’s a hint.
I have disabled all other plugins so it can’t be a plugin conflict.
