    Hi,

We are currently building out our new site. Just wondering if there is a way to center the search text and also change the user input text to black (it’s hard to see currently).

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

These options are actually added in GP Premium 1.9 which is in release candidate 2 currently:
    https://generatepress.com/gp-premium-1-9-0/

Would you consider using the version?

    Let me know πŸ™‚

We might consider it. Will have to run it by my partner. If so, what is the option? πŸ™‚

If you are using GP Premium 1.9, then the color option would be under Colors > Primary navigation.

We should be releasing the official version very soon.

The other option is to use CSS first:
    https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/search-bar-formating/#post-1058782

Then you can use the customizer option and remove the CSS once you are using 1.9 πŸ™‚

Hmm. I added that to the Additional CSS and it didn’t seem to do anything. That has happened before with several CSS code snippets though.

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

do you have any other CSS in the Additional CSS ?
If so try adding the CSS provided to the very top of the additional css field. If that works it means that some of your other CSS is broken.

The other thing to ensure is that any cache plugins or browser caches are cleared.

Interesting – that did work, but I’m not sure what other CSS would be in there. We haven’t added much to the additional CSS, but we did have a different theme before, so that’s the only thing I can think of.

In any case, since that worked, I will resolve this for now. Thanks!

    Glad to be of help.
You can use this site to validate your CSS to pick up any errors:
