i decided to put our logo in the menu. when i removed it from the customizer, i got this error and my customizer no longer shows the layout on the right:

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
That’s strange. I’m not able to replicate the issue and haven’t had other reports on this.
Can you disable all plugins including GP Premium to test?
Also make sure you are using the parent theme.

the plot thickens. it only shows the error and borks the customizer when woocommerce is active.

StaffCustomer SupportSo the issue occurs with WooCommerce as the only activated plugins?\
I’m not able to replicate that either.
Do you have any custom functions added elsewhere? Have you modified any files from WooCommerce or GeneratePress theme?
Does the issue occur with a Twenty series WP theme?

StaffCustomer SupportYup I mentioned this above:

ok. it happens with generatepress as the parent theme, generatepress premium, woocommerce and a plugin called ‘Add Descendants As Submenu Items’ are active. that plugin was recommended to me from the Max Mega Menu folks. sadly, i don’t think it’s maintained.

StaffCustomer SupportGlad you’ve figured out!
The first step when running into a weird issue like this is always to disable all plugins and activate the parent theme.

yeah, i definitely did the plugins, but didn’t do the theme. since that plugin’s outdated, i’m probably always going to have to deactivate it when using the customizer, eh?

StaffCustomer SupportI guess so?
You could also look for an alternative plugin that is still supported.
