    Hi,

I’m considering redesigning my site in GeneratePress and just wondered what might be the best way of going about this without disrupting the live site.

So I’m very comfortable moving sites and working on localhost. So moving the site to local isn’t an issue. Once I have designed the site, what would be the most effective way of applying the new theme to the live site? Can I export GP settings somehow? Or is there a better way?

    Hi Grant,

I believe the easiest way is to design the new site on a new install/another URL and moving it over when it’s all ready.

Let me know if this answers your question.

Once the site on your localhost or test server is ready to go, you could use a plugin like this to make the move much easier: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
