I do hope you can help me as ! do not know anything about code.. I have previously created drop down menus on the site. I have been struggling to create a Top menu tab named “Technical Papers” to house several pages. This is what i did
    1. Created a page titled – “Technical Papers”.
    2. In Customize, added page to the menu
    3. Added the 9 pages to this item as subs (indented) and published.
    4. The Technical Tab generates an error that the page cannot be found, and when I hover over it I do not see the added items.

I have just given up after trying this countless times but have left my last trial to see.
    Thank you kindly

    Thanks.

Can you try adding that menu through the Secondary Navigation instead?

I want it to appear in the top menu bar. Will it still show up there if I do?
    Thanks

You can chooseabove header as the secondary navigation location.

Sorry for the continued questions. Please see the website as I have done this and it is still not showing.

To clarify, I am trying to add a tab to the Top Menu Bar alongside the tabs ‘Affiliate Compliance” and RESOURCES.
This is what I previously did
    1. Created a page titled – “Technical Papers” – probably the wrong way to get started
    2. In Customize, I then added a page to the menu
    3. Then added the 9 pages to this item as subs (indented) and published.
    4. The “Technical Papers” Tab generates an error that the page cannot be found, and when I hover over it I do not see the added items.

The issue still remain. Please help me look into this. Thank you.

If you just want to create a parent menu item, there’s no need to create a page for it, you can use the custom links option to add it at appearance > menu. The URL field can simply be #, and fill the Link Text filed withTechnical Papers. Then you can add the 9 pages as its sub menus.

I’m not seeing secondary navigation activated on your site, you are still using a widget in the topbar which can NOT achieve what you’re trying to do. Do you have any difficulties implanting the secondary navigation?

    Let me know!

Thank you so much for this Ying! I followed all the steps as you indicated through the WP dashboard but it still does not show a dropdown under Technical Papers on the site. P.S. I have also cleared the cache. Could this have something to do with the secondary navigation you mentioned? I tried activating this as suggested earlier but it did not show up.
    What do I do?
    Really grateful for the guidance!

The menu you selected in your secondary nav seems to not have the correct menu you want to show. In Appearance > Customize > Menus or Appearance > Menus, choose the correct menu that contains the menu item “Technical Papers”.

    Unclear about what you mean.
I have selected Appearance > Customize > Menus or Appearance > Menus AND selected Top Menu Bar. Everything shows there…

As shown, make sure that the one selected for the Secondary menu has the menu-items you want to appear.

Thank you Fernando, but you are confusing me more. Technical Papers is NOT a menu. It is sub item on the Top Bar menu. I have used the # and named it accordingly. It is shown on the Top Bar and All the items are listed under it already – see site. Please have some patience with me as I think I have already done what you are asking me to do. Thanks

    continued…..
I have About Compliance, RESOURCES and Technical Papers showing on the Top Menu Tab. I also understand that I should not have created it as a Page but that it should be a custom link because I want other items under it

The set up of the menu items is looking good 🙂

As we told you before, you are using the menu as a widget in the topbar, this will NOT show the dropdown sub menu.

You need to use secondary navigation, that’s what Fernando and I were trying to tell you.

If you have no idea how to do this, can you provide an admin login using the private info field? So we can take some screenshots and guide you through them?

    Let me know!
