Hi Tom,
I’ve encountered some problem with posts archive page posts featured image width and height. I’ve checked your doc: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adjusting-the-featured-images/ and tried all 3 ways. But still the problem is not solved.
Before, i set it to 200px by 200px, crop. Now it’s showing like this: https://interpreterdatabase.com/interpreter-community
Could you advise me how I could solve it please?
Thanks

I think it happened after I upgrade GPP a few days ago.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
Can you try this?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adjusting-the-featured-images/#fix-images-not-cropping

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperDid you find any items matching those names in the Cron manager?

Yes. Only one and I manually ran it. The cron was successfully done. But features image size was not changed

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperAh, it looks like the images are smaller than the destination size.
The new resizer doesn’t support upscaling. It’s not great practice, and it ruins image quality.
Try uploading larger images, then it should work 🙂

Hi Tom,
Actually the images are all larger than 200*200 if you click any if those posts you can see that…

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperStrange – it seems some of the images are working, and some aren’t.
Can you try re-uploading the featured images that aren’t working, but removing any special characters from the names?

Hi Tom,
A new user posted a new post on my website today, but it looks like the problem is still there. Looks like for archive posts, the thumbnail doesn’t crop, it just scale aspect ratio even though I’ve set it to 200*200 from customizer.
I’ve heard of a plugin called Regenerate Thumbnail. Not sure if I need to give that a try? I’m just worried that the plugin will affect my other post type thumbnail though.
Thanks

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThe image seems to have special characters in it still. Have you tried re-uploading one of the images with only English characters?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIs there anything in your error_log file?
Can you try the cron manager once more now that you have a test featured image up?

Hi Tom,
I have manually done the cron job again. Won’t work. I’m running out of ideas.
Just wonder if you could login to my webiste using admin details and have a look at it for me? (I don’t mean to be greedy. If it’s not within your support scope, it’s perfectly fine. I might as well put this aside for a short while and come back later for this issue.)
Thanks

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperAny chance you can throw up a staging site so I can play with some code without affecting the live site?
