    Hello,

I have tried 4 times to have Pinterest validate my website so I can “claim” it. I watched the wordpress.org video, several times, on how to accomplish this. Nothing works. Yes, tried using SOE Yoast to enter the code.

I got this message from Pinterest, “We couldn’t find the HTML meta tag or verification file on your site. Be sure to paste the HTML meta tag in the <head> section of your site’s homepage, or upload the verification file to your site’s root directory. Try again or get help.”

How do I “paste the HTML meta tag in the <head> section of your site’s homepage?” What steps do I take?

Could the problem be that my site is not yet live?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi there,

Try using the wp_head hook with hooks element:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/hooks-element-overview/

Let me know if this helps 🙂

    Thank you for helping.

As I said in another Support Forum question, I can’t find “Elements” under the Appearance menu to make any changes. I am using GP Premium Classic and that option does not show up. Any idea what’s wrong?

What do I set the Display Rules to, please? It says to “Paste this tag into the <head> section of your site’s index.html file.”

    Try the entire site.

Does the hook go into the wp_head setting or where/which setting? It says to “Paste this tag into the <head> section of your site’s index.html file,” but I don’t know where that is. Can you direct me, please?

wp_head hook does go into the <head> section of your site:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/wp-head/

Simply copy and paste the code in a hook element and select wp_head hook should work.

Thank you and done. I’ll close out this help ticket once Pinterest confirms validation of my site.

I wanted to add that I truly do appreciate you all for the help and guidance you offer me.

    No problem!

I’m not sure if your site needs to be live for them to validate – that’s something you’d need to check with their support.

I’m not sure I should reply to this thread or open a new one. Beside that, I’m having the same problem as the OP. However, I tried the above mention and it doesn’t work.

I am going to try to explain this as detail as possible:

    1) The type of element is hook
    2) The location is the entire site
    3) In the setting category, the Hook is WP_Head
    4) In the Display Rule, the location is set to Entire Site
