[Support request] Part of the content of my post not found in Copyscape

Doing a site: test in Bing and Yahoo for a post on my site it looks to be indexed OK. When going into Copyscape to check content is oK I see that it cannot find a lot of the content of the post. Could you explain why this would be.

The only thing different to a default GP install on that site is that there is some Javascript being used for the jQuery Pin It Button. Not sure if that would cause a conflict with Copyscape…

Other than that i can’t see any reason why that does not work if Copyscape is simply parsing HTML.

I have deleted jQuery plugin and tried some content in Copyscape again but stll not showing any results for it. Also tried some other content from my site and it finds it OK. So don’t understand why this latest post can’t be found. I am also using Elementor on this site, could there be some conflict with post content using it.

It could be – we would need to go through some debugging steps:

First try disabling all plugins and custom functions, does the issue still occur?

If so then try activating a twenty series WP theme, does the issue still occur?

Hi Leo. No problem disabling all plugins, I have now done that including the main plugins WishList Member, Elementor Pro and GP Premium is that what you requested? Not sure about custom functions. Could you explain where these would be found. I am using the child theme.

I don’t know whether this has anything to do with disabling all the plugins but now when going to the blog on the site at https://lessoningolf.com/blog/ and clicking on the different categories available which are, Driving, Learning to Play and Stay Health it takes me to the Home page of the site instead of the cetegories. Any ideas wht this happens?

Plugins disabled and changed over to Twenty Twenty theme as you suggested and still just seeing Copyscape showing part of the content on that page. It is as if something happened halfway through the content.

I am not sure how Copyscape works when running a test on a front end URL.
But i found they provide a plugin for using their API to check the post content from within the editor:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/copyscape-premium/

So i get the impression that Copyscape has to parse the editor content and not the front end URL.

With the version I use at https://www.copyscape.com/ I just enter the content into the field provided there, and it searches the net to look for any copies. I have used it for a long time, but this is the first instance where it only shows part of the content. I have also tried it again this time with content from my Home page, but it can’t find it either.

So is there a field to paste in the actual text content of the site – i am only seeing the URL option ?

Yes. I have taken an image showing this and how it states, “No Internet results found for the text you pasted” but don’t see how to add the image on here.
