Nothing found page

Hello,

If I go to my homepage and type some random thing in the search box, a 'Nothing found' page appears. All is well on this page, except the newsletter form, which has lost its colors.

My questions are:

1. Can I change the Nothing found text from this page? And the text below it: 'Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with some different keywords.'

2. can I eliminate either the whole sidebar or just the (faulty) newsletter form?

For question 1, David offers a solution by using Child theme:

For question 2, go to appearance > elements, create a new layout element.
Choose content/(no sidebars), and choose search results as location.
