It turns out I had to go through ALL the header elements and set Navigation Location under the Site Header tag to Default. That seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks again! This also indicates that you might have some conflicts in display rules going on: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/conflicting-display-rules/ So if you run into an issue with elements not displaying or not displaying correctly, that would likely be the reason.
