Donny
Hello,
How would I get the menu to merge with a layout I created with Elemtentor and have the Transparent navigation?December 26, 2016 at 2:22 pm #257955Leo
StaffCustomer SupportHi Donny,
Can you try the following:
– Navigation merge with header: Customizer > Layout > Primary Navigation > Navigation Position > Float Right
– Transparent Navigation: add this CSS:.main-navigation { background-color: transparent; }
Add CSS: http://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-css/
If the above doesn’t work can you provide link to your site?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperI just wrote an article on how to do this using the Page Header add-on: http://docs.generatepress.com/article/merging-header-navigation-content/
This will allow you to design your navigation/header to match the page you designed.

Hey Tom,
Tools: WP v4.8, GP Pro Theme, Elementor (Lite), Local by Flywheel
Live Link: 71a90480.ngrok.ioGot the GP Pro just the other day – Adam from WPCrafter respects your work as I respect Adam’s word and advice. He mentioned you give great customer support! I am working towards getting the Front end and Back end web dev credentials but in the mean time, I have a client – a chance – an opportunity to add something cool to my portfolio!!!
I also have a deadline and a bit of a problem. It has to do with a transparent header. I followed your instructions as per http://docs.generatepress.com/article/merging-the-page-header-site-header/ to no avail and also used Simple CSS following Leo’s tip/advice – all to no avail in making the header and nav bar transparent. I even watched Adam’s WPCrafter vid too. – No luck.
I generated a new page Transparent Header and inserted <span></span> into contents and thought I followed instructions properly – but after multiple attempts & hours (yikes), I cannot get it done. A little help, please?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
If you are using a page builder then this is the link you should follow for merge: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/merging-header-navigation-content/
If you need additional assistance can you please open a new topic and provide a link to your site possibly?
Thanks!

Hi,
Regarding the last comment “If you are using a page builder then this is the link you should follow for merge: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/merging-header-navigation-content/”
When you go to that page, the very first thing it says is “This works great if you’re using the Page Header add-on to add content, but doesn’t help if you’re using a page builder like Elementor or Beaver Builder to build your page and need to achieve the same effect.”
Is anyone able to give the correct answer to this question? I am using Elementor Pro with GeneratePress Pro and cannot get a nav menu going, let along a combined version. Surely it doesn’t come down to adding header + nav menu + footer element to every page. That would drive anyone crazy.
Hope to hear from you.
Cheers, Iain

StaffCustomer SupportHi Iain,
What was the question? Can you open a new topic and provide a link to your site? Thanks!

Hi,
Just re-read my comment. It’s the same question as the one at the top of this page. I don’t believe it has been answered as per the first sentence in my comment. I want to achieve the simple task of having a navigation bar at the top of the page like most sites have. How do I do this using Elementor with Generate Press?
My site is in staging mode so I can’t post the link.

Hmm, I see your question and have got the same one
I want to achieve the simple task of having a navigation bar at the top of the page like most sites have. How do I do this using Elementor with Generate Press?
but cannot find your answer. 🙂
What way did you achieve this?
I am in the same situation and funnily was also baffled by the line “doesn’t help if you’re using a page builder like Elementor or Beaver Builder”.So how did you achieve this finally?
A comment from Leo or Tom on best practice(s) to achieve this would also be very much appreciated.
Thanks all!John770
(loving the theme so far, but also finding this step of combining finished Elementor page with GP menu not intuitive, although I am sure there’s a simple solution to this. Just a newbie problem on my part.)September 25, 2017 at 8:23 am #391622Leo
StaffCustomer SupportThis is the article you need: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/merging-header-navigation-content/
The sentence “doesn’t help if you’re using a page builder like Elementor or Beaver Builder” is direct towards another article for people who don’t use page builders: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/merging-the-page-header-site-header/
Let me know if this helps.
