client just sent me a printscreen showing how he sees the menu – it looks ok on my computer, but seems not to show arrows on his. Any idea how to fix this? here’s the link: https://postimg.org/image/aulixnwhh/GP Premium 1.5.6February 8, 2018 at 9:04 am #491439LeoStaffCustomer Support
Can you try #1 here to eliminate plugin conflict? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/
And make sure you are using the suggested setting for Autoptimize too: https://generatepress.com/fastest-wordpress-theme/February 12, 2018 at 11:46 pm #494974Katarzyna
unfortunately, turning off all plugins didn’t help, autoptimize settings checked, still not working 🙁February 12, 2018 at 11:53 pm #494978Katarzyna
I also added <link href=”https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.0.6/css/all.css” rel=”stylesheet”> to the GP Hacks head section, just in case it got lost somewhere along the way, but this didn’t help eitherFebruary 13, 2018 at 1:04 am #495014Katarzyna
it seems it’s sth about UTF-8 encoding, I changed the arrows via css to a different one (you can check which one will work here: https://unicode-table.com/en/search/?q=triangle) and it’s ok. But the issue stays unsolved – why did it change? Is it some cross-browser problem?February 13, 2018 at 8:56 am #495403LeoStaffCustomer SupportFebruary 13, 2018 at 12:31 pm #495582Katarzyna
yes, I disabled all plugins and cancelled additional css code – but tomorrow I will have to put it all back 😉February 13, 2018 at 12:44 pm #495589LeoStaffCustomer SupportFebruary 14, 2018 at 1:17 am #495913Katarzyna
No, no changes there – I use Snippet plugin to add necesarry code, as well as GP Hacks. No changes in core files. Only htaccess was changed manually.
I’m a little afraid to reinstall the theme, what if settings are lost on the way? and there are maaany settings to rememeber what was set how and where.. Think there’s no other way?February 14, 2018 at 6:13 am #496081LeoStaffCustomer SupportFebruary 14, 2018 at 9:48 am #496390TomLead DeveloperLead Developer
Your console is showing these errors: https://www.screencast.com/t/yPq2l2LdnZ
That means it can’t find the font files for the icons, which should be in wp-content/themes/generatepress/fonts.
Do those files exist on your server?February 14, 2018 at 11:32 pm #496913Katarzyna
hey, stupid me, was it so easy? Totally forgot I messed with the fonts folder, thanks a million!!February 15, 2018 at 10:26 am #497465
