    Hi,
client just sent me a printscreen showing how he sees the menu – it looks ok on my computer, but seems not to show arrows on his. Any idea how to fix this? here’s the link: https://postimg.org/image/aulixnwhh/

    Hi there,

Can you try #1 here to eliminate plugin conflict? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/

And make sure you are using the suggested setting for Autoptimize too: https://generatepress.com/fastest-wordpress-theme/

unfortunately, turning off all plugins didn’t help, autoptimize settings checked, still not working πŸ™

I also added <link href=”https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.0.6/css/all.css&#8221; rel=”stylesheet”> to the GP Hacks head section, just in case it got lost somewhere along the way, but this didn’t help either

it seems it’s sth about UTF-8 encoding, I changed the arrows via css to a different one (you can check which one will work here: https://unicode-table.com/en/search/?q=triangle) and it’s ok. But the issue stays unsolved – why did it change? Is it some cross-browser problem?

Hmm we haven’t had this issue reported before and nothing has changed.

There shouldn’t be any hacks needed as well.

Can you switch it back to how it was with the plugins disabled?

yes, I disabled all plugins and cancelled additional css code – but tomorrow I will have to put it all back πŸ˜‰

Hmm did you alter the core theme code by any chance?

If not can you try reinstalling the theme? No settings will be lost.

    Let me know πŸ™‚

No, no changes there – I use Snippet plugin to add necesarry code, as well as GP Hacks. No changes in core files. Only htaccess was changed manually.
I’m a little afraid to reinstall the theme, what if settings are lost on the way? and there are maaany settings to rememeber what was set how and where.. Think there’s no other way?

I’ve forwarded this to Tom to have a look. Please leave the site as it is now.

    Thanks!

Your console is showing these errors: https://www.screencast.com/t/yPq2l2LdnZ

That means it can’t find the font files for the icons, which should be in wp-content/themes/generatepress/fonts.

Do those files exist on your server?
