Ryan
When creating new blog posts, I’ve noticed that it puts the title twice. One at the very top of the page and one right below it. How can I remove one of these titles?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Any chance you can link us to the page in question?
You can use the private information field:

StaffCustomer SupportWhich one are you trying to remove? The first or second one?

The second one.
May 24, 2022 at 11:53 am #2231371Leo
StaffCustomer SupportOk so the first one is created with a block element page hero:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/If you edit that element, then you can toggle on to disable the default title and primary post meta:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/#settingsThose settings would remove the second title 🙂
Let me know if this helps 🙂

No, unfortunately your videos did not help. I watched all 16 minutes of them, but I didn’t see where they discussed how to remove duplicate titles.
May 24, 2022 at 12:34 pm #2231411Leo
StaffCustomer SupportWere you able to identify the element (under dashboard > Appearance > Elements) that’s adding the first title and post meta yet?
Was this a site library import? If so can you recall which site?

I have no idea what you are even talking about. I’m just looking for a simple and quick way to disable duplicate titles. And I’d rather not have to watch 16 minutes of video.
May 24, 2022 at 12:48 pm #2231432Leo
StaffCustomer SupportYou don’t need to watch the video. The documentation is just a reference of the element and setting you need to find.
Can you follow my suggestion here and answer the questions?
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/how-to-remove-duplicate-titles-in-blog/#post-2231411We should be able to resolve the issue quickly if you attempt my instructions.
Alternatively, I can take some screenshots for you if you provide the dashboard access of your site using the private info field:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-informationThanks.

So all you did was send me links to 2 (16 minute videos). You didn’t explain anything at all or provide any screenshots.

StaffCustomer SupportYou didn’t explain anything at all or provide any screenshots.
This reply here explains exactly what needs to be done with the documentation links as references to the specific option:
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/how-to-remove-duplicate-titles-in-blog/#post-2231371There are also screenshots in the documentation. For example:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/#settingsYou still have not answered my questions here either:
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/how-to-remove-duplicate-titles-in-blog/#post-2231411If you would like me to take some screenshots in your install for you, then please provide the dashboard access using the private URL field:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-informationI’m really trying to help and not waste both of our time but it’s very difficult to do so when the instructions provided are not being followed.
Thanks for your understanding.

I’m just trying to get a simple and quick answer on how to fix something. And all you do is provide links to 16 minute videos without any explanation. And to be honest you come off as extremely rude which is why I’d prefer someone else respond to my questions.

StaffCustomer SupportHi Ryan,
I’m not really sure what more I can do to help here – none of my instructions are being followed or attemped.
The “simple and quick” answer you are looking for is in this reply:
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/how-to-remove-duplicate-titles-in-blog/#post-2231371I will rephrase the steps again:
1. Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Elements and look for a block element page hero that’s assigned to Posts.
2. Edit the element identified in #1.
3. Turn on Disable Title as shown in this screenshot:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/#settingsThat should be it.
My other suggestion is for you to provide the dashboard access so I can take some screenshots for you but I have not received the information either.

StaffCustomer SupportI edited the answer above to include a simple 3 steps solution for you to follow.
Please try it and let me know if you get stuck anywhere.
