How do I make my navigation full-width?
36 replies · Started by RJ on April 2, 2019
OK so I have increased Customising ▸ Layout ▸ Container ▸ Container Width to 735px, and that has fixed it.
However as I have the settings to full width, why would this be happening? I have settings like this:
Customising ▸ Layout ▸ Primary Navigation ▸ Navigation width FULL
Customising ▸ Layout ▸ Primary Navigation ▸ Inner Navigation width FULL
Thoughts?
Can you do the following:
- Disable all plugins except GP Premium.
- Comment out all CSS you've added:

- Send me the dashboard access through account issues here and mention this topic URL:

Hi Leo - OK I don't want to disable all of the plugins short of a for 60 seconds because some are pretty important for my site.
I can't do that for any length of time.
Can't you do that if I give you wp-admin access?
Off to bed now, so will reply in the morning.
I'd much prefer if you can do it, or create a clone site so we can debug.
I just tried to replicate the problem but unable to do so:

OK, thanks Leo. I tried to duplicate what you did and the primary navigation and header all stay 'contained'.
I just realised that I am using... Version 1.8.0-beta.1 (GP Premium plugin)
So I deleted it, and the navigation became full width.
Next, I reinstalled the stable version - Version 1.7.8 (GP Premium plugin)
... activated it and the problem returned again.
Any ideas? Possibly a glitch in the GP-Premium plugin?
This is highly unlikely a bug.
This option has been around since the start of GP Premium and hasn't changed since.
We also haven't had other reports on this.
If you can do what I've suggested here, I'm happy to take a look:

Hi Leo - I'm going to leave this at the moment because I can't disable certain plugins as I am running ad campaigns and they are essential to have these plugins on all the time for tracking etc.
I've just removed some elements in my nav. so it all shows on a single.
Once my campaigns finish. I'll get back to you, but for the time being, please close the ticket.
Thanks for all your help.
No problem!
I'm happy to have a look whenever you are ready :)
I'm having the same issue that Robin described. Navigation Width set to Full, but everything is contained within the 1200px settings.
Hi there,
have you set the Navigation Width and Inner Navigation Width to full width?
If this doesn't resolve the issue would you be able to raise a new topic where you can share your site url privately and we can take a look
Yes, I set the Navigation Width and Inner Navigation Width to full but it didn't resolve the issue, so I rebuilt the site to fix the problem.
Not sure what the issue was then - but glad to hear you found a workaround
I've still got the same problem, David. What to do? :-(
Robin
Hi Robin,
looks like you have a Container wrapper hooked into your site. Can you check your Appearance > Elements to see if there are two hooks for creating a Full Container wrapper. This is whats locking the width of all the content. Let me know.
Can't see anything. All the elements are mostly
The only one that looks different is this one.
