Hi,

I am a regular guy that learned to do a wordpress site on youtube and by trying themeforest themes+visual composer. So my understanding on php is 0, html and css is almost 0.

Could you give me any ideas on how to start doing sites with generatepress without any pagebuilder?

Thanks in advance,
Ricardo Pons

Hi there,

That's a really broad question for us to answer.

All of our options/features are explained in our documentation:
https://docs.generatepress.com/

There are also short videos of each module here:
https://generatepress.com/premium/

Do you have an example of a site you'd like to achieve? Then I can point you in the right direction.

Make sure to take a look at our site library templates as well:

Let me know :)

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

I also have some difficulty explaining myself because English is not my natural language and also because I'm not used to html, css and javasacript terms. So it's kind of hard to express what I mean!

But I've been researching a little bit more on your theme and I've found out how can I do things.

And my question should be:

How can a beginner use wordpress without elementor or visual composer!

So it's not related to theme itself :)

What happens is that if you go to themeforest and buy a theme with visual composer you have several pre made sections and elements and you don't need to write html to get things working and I was used to that...

So, without elementor or visual composer, if I want to mix images, videos, text and other elements in a row I should know how to code it in html and css! Simple as that, but for a newbie that was used to pre made elements using visual composer, not so obvious.

But I've found that generatepress has some nice options on the customizer and I'm enjoying it :)

I've found out that a nice thing to do is to go to the site library, install the demo sites and analyze the html and css.

For now, I'm doing a very simple site, mostly with text, and I hope I can learn some stuff.

Awesome sounds good!

Your English is good!

However, feel free to type in your native if you need ever need to explain something in details and I'll use Google translate :)
