Hey Tom,
i bought the GP Premium add-on package and try to put a background video in the header – exactly as it is shown in the video / documentation.
But when i am adding the video, the header is just grey (no picture, no video, nothing…).
pls help !!! – thxJuly 17, 2017 at 3:09 pm #350851Leo
StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
This is the page you were following? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-header-background-video/
Can you provide a link to your site?

StaffCustomer SupportSorry I’m not quite sure why it isn’t working but have asked Tom to check when he has time 🙂
In the mean time any chance you can disable all non-GP plugin to eliminate plugin conflicts? Thanks!

ok – i deactivated all plugins (except GP), but then all design features are gone and the header is still grey… so i activated them again…
i am using Beaver Builder, Yoast SEO, Ninja Forms and TinyMCE Advanced at the moment.i hope Tom will find the error 😉 – thx

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperI wonder if it’s an issue with the webm file format. Can you try using an MP4 just to test?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperNo problem – I’ll look into why webm isn’t working.

Did this get figured out? I have the same problem with webm video not displaying when used as a page header background (the link to the uploaded video is present when I view the page source). If I use MP4 instead, the video plays fine.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperI believe it’s a .webm issue – we haven’t been able to get that fixed yet.

Hey Tom,
Has there been an update on this issue? .WEBM is way smaller than .MP4 to use as a background video.June 26, 2018 at 8:26 pm #609491Tom
Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperWe’ve actually re-written the Page Header module in 1.7. Instead of a built in background video option, we’ll be introducing a way to add the video background inside the Page Header content. This will allow you to set different video files 🙂
