Hey Tom,
i bought the GP Premium add-on package and try to put a background video in the header - exactly as it is shown in the video / documentation.
But when i am adding the video, the header is just grey (no picture, no video, nothing...).
pls help !!! - thx
Hi there,
This is the page you were following? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-header-background-video/
Can you provide a link to your site?
Hi Leo,
sure - here is the link:
http://business-in-gruenwald.com/
Hmm I currently see a background image? https://s1.postimg.org/qmw51qlen/2017-07-17_1517.png
yes, i changed it again to image ... hang on - i will put in a video...
ok - done ... now the video is installed but the header is grey
Hey Leo, i put the video now on the following address in the header:
http://business-in-gruenwald.com/impressum
because my client is following my work and i can't leave the "Home" header blank ... thx
Sorry I'm not quite sure why it isn't working but have asked Tom to check when he has time :)
In the mean time any chance you can disable all non-GP plugin to eliminate plugin conflicts? Thanks!
ok - i deactivated all plugins (except GP), but then all design features are gone and the header is still grey... so i activated them again...
i am using Beaver Builder, Yoast SEO, Ninja Forms and TinyMCE Advanced at the moment.
i hope Tom will find the error ;) - thx
I wonder if it's an issue with the webm file format. Can you try using an MP4 just to test?
hey Tom - the mp4 is working !!! .... strange, but ok then i have to use mp4 files - THANK YOU and keep up the good work!
No problem - I'll look into why webm isn't working.
Did this get figured out? I have the same problem with webm video not displaying when used as a page header background (the link to the uploaded video is present when I view the page source). If I use MP4 instead, the video plays fine.
I believe it's a .webm issue - we haven't been able to get that fixed yet.
Hey Tom,
Has there been an update on this issue? .WEBM is way smaller than .MP4 to use as a background video.
We've actually re-written the Page Header module in 1.7. Instead of a built in background video option, we'll be introducing a way to add the video background inside the Page Header content. This will allow you to set different video files :)
