This may be an issue w/ the site's server as we aren't able to replicate this on our end w/ our sandbox sites.

Can you check with your hosting support to see if it’s some sort of server misconfiguration? Perhaps a server-side cache?

While waiting, you can actually access what these buttons are supposed to do through Appearance > Customize.

The Site Identity button is basically Appearance > Customize > Site Identity.
The Color Options button can be accessed through Appearance > Customize > Colors.
The Typography System button can be accessed through Appearance > Customize > Typography.
The Layout Panel button can be accessed through Appearance > Customize > Layout.

I have paid more for other themes, junk, and extra support from other so-called premium themes in the past.
I must say that of all my experiences since beginning this adventure, GPP has been on spot with their support in my case.
