Dinesh
Hello,
I had purchased a GP premium, I had to put my project on hold for some personal reasons last year. I decided to restart my project and saw that my menus had become very buggy. I believe this is either die to my premium membership expiring (I thought I renewed it in May) or because I do not have the latest updates installed, when I now check my GP version it says 2.2.2. I just wanted some confirmation on what could be a possible cause since I have not made an edits to the site.
GeneratePress 2.2.2GP Premium 1.7.8March 18, 2019 at 12:45 pm #842540Leo
StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
2.2.2 is the latest theme version.
The latest GP Premium version is 1.7.8.
See this article for more info:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/generatepress-and-gp-premium/What exactly do you mean that the menu is buggy?

What I mean by buggy is that the slide-out menu does not work anymore on browser or mobile and slide-out isnt working as it used to either. I put my website URL info when I opened this post, you will be able to see the buggy issue I am referring to on the site.
When I go to apperance->setting I see Generate press 2.2.2 and GP Premium 1.8.0-alpha1 (Version 1.8.0-alpha.1). I guess this is something to do with not having the latest files but I could be wrong.
Hope that helps.
Regards

StaffCustomer SupportHow are you adding the slideout navigation currently?
Since you are using the 1.8 alpha, can you try the off canvas option?

Would this be an easier fix if I were to go back to 1.7.8 If so how do I go about that? Honestly I want to avoid making any additional changes if I can. As I said, this used to work just fine and I haven’t made any changes except I am not sure if the version of GP is causing this or if it is that I have not downloaded or installed some update correctly. is there a way to check on that? It is not just slide out menu thats the issue, page scroll is also affected.

StaffCustomer SupportI think it might be best to eliminate any plugin conflicts first as suggested #1 here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/I do see a console error on the page you linked which is likely stopping the slideout navigation from working.

Sure, I can try that, I am however skeptical if this solution will work, like I said I have not made any changes since this last worked as expected. No new plugins were added or removed, no plugin setting were changed, only regular updates were performed (unless upgrade is the culprit). logically if no plugin setting was changed then that shouldn’t be the issue but I understand weird things can happen. I will give it a spin and get back to you.
Just curious, what error did you see? when you say console error, was there a message associated with it?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
try flushing your autoptimize cache, if the error still persists flush it again and disable the plugin.

David,
Disabling Autoptimize fixed the issue. Thank you very much for suggesting that. However this puts me in a predicament of not being able to optimize. Looks like Autoptimize is not compatible. Maybe not the right question to ask but are you aware of any optimization plugin that is compatible with GP or any in-built optimization features within GP Premium that I could try?
Thanks once again

StaffCustomer SupportAutoptimize is definitely compatible with GP – we are running it on this site.
Can you try the suggested settings here?

Leo,
I activated Autoptimize and configured the settings exactly as described in the link https://generatepress.com/fastest-wordpress-theme/ and the problem has come back. I use a separate plugin for page scrolling and it is possible that this plugin is incompatible with Autoptimize but why is the slide-out getting affected? Do I need to exclude any css or scripts from Autoptimize?

StaffCustomer SupportCan you try disabling the page scrolling plugin?
GP does have built-in smooth scroll:

StaffCustomer SupportI’m not sure how Elementor’s scroll plugin works.
Have you checked with their support?
