Elementor is not a scroll plugin, it is a web-page builder, which has been used to build this site. That aside. How does Generate Press scroll work? Won't there be a need to place anchors to where you want the link to scroll to? I don't see how Just adding the smooth-scroll class to the menu item without anchors on the web page will make scrolling work. Unless I am missing something?
Regards
Yes I know what Elementor is but was just confused with your question.
You would just need to add an ID to the section you want to scroll to then the link would be something like .com/#my-id
My apologies for creating the confusion.
So basically I need to add an anchor to the section on the page where I want to scroll to, give it an id name, go to the menus add the url.com/#id-name and add smooth-scroll to the CSS-Class. I can try this and get back to you. Sorry for dragging this issue along, I really want to make Autoptimize work on my site. I am still not sure why the slide-out menu gets messed up too, not using any 3rd party plugin for that. I did add some CSS code for the slide-out, to make it work to my specifications. not sure if sharing that with you would help or if I need to exclude certain CSS or javascript files from autoptimize.
Regards
My apologies - David from our team just advised me that if you are using Elementor then don't use GP's smooth scroll as it conflicts with Elementor's smooth scroll.
I just checked your site and everything seems to be working including the slideout navigation?
Understood about scrolling, thanks for clarifying that. The website is working normal now is because autoptimize is deactivated. As soon as I activate it it stops working. I have activated autoptimize and I will leave it activated so you can see what I am talking about.
Regards
So you are already using the suggested setting here?
https://generatepress.com/fastest-wordpress-theme/
I do see a console error coming from Autoptimize.
What happens if you disable all plugins except GP Premium?
And if you are using Elementor scrolling, you might need to check with their support to see if there are certain settings needed in Autopimize.
ok scrolling I have another thread going on with their developers but how about slide-out (using GP slide-out)? Slide-out gets affected whenever using autoptimize. As soon as autoptimize is activated (using your recommended settings) slide-out stops working. I have disabled all plugins except gp premium and the only time the issue happens is when autoptimize is activated. Since autoptimize is compatible with GP I am wondering why Slide-out is affected.
Regards
We are using slide-out navigation (on mobile) with Autopimize without any issues on this site.
Can you double check that the settings do match with what we suggested? Especially the Javascript part.
If so can you disable all other plugins again and let me have another look?
Leo,
I checked again and found that I had selected one extra feature that wasn't included in the settings you had recommended under javascript. I removed that selection and now it seems like everything is working as expected with Autoptimize.
Thank you sincerely for being so patient. Truly appreciate it.
Regards
Glad I could help :)
Same issue. I turned off ALL plugins to test. The one that is the issue is the GP Premium. If it's the only plugin on, the mobile menu gives a gray screen with only partial view and white x to close. If I turn off GP Premium hamburger menu works as expected. Turned on all but GP Premium plugin and the hamburger menu works. It's the issue. I have version 1.7.8 running on our site. Hi there,
you're using the Slide out navigation, which like the primary and secondary requires a menu to be assigned to. In Customizer > Menus - select the menu you want it to display and check the Slideout Navigation in the Locations.
Thank you. Tiny checkboxes - sigh. I appreciate the quick solution.
Glad to be of help :)
