thanks
Good to hear :)
Tom, I deactivated the GP Premium plugin so I could install the updated zip file, and immediately it displayed this on a new page:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare generate_default_fonts_customize_register() (previously declared in Fatal error: Cannot redeclare generate_default_fonts_customize_register() (previously declared in /homepages/43/d622919337/htdocs/dev/wp-content/themes/generatepress/inc/add-ons/typography.php:348) in /homepages/43/d622919337/htdocs/dev/wp-content/themes/generatepress/inc/add-ons/typography.php on line 348
I can't access wp-admin or the site now.
HELP!
That happened when you deactivated GP Premium? There's no function by that name on line 348.
You'll need to navigate to your site using FTP or File Manager (in your hosting control panel).
Go to "wp-content/themes/generatepress" and manually upload the new GeneratePress files (overwrite the old ones).
Then do the same to GP Premium in "wp-content/plugins/gp-premium".
Not sure what's going on there - maybe you're using an old version of GP?
Ok. So I have the gp-premium folder that I unzipped. I have deleted the old gp-premium file that's inside the plugins folder and then I upload the new gp-premium to there. What folder do I upload to the themes section?
Also, how do I active the gp-premium plugin from FTP? Is there something in the php file that I change?
You can download the GP zip here: https://downloads.wordpress.org/theme/generatepress.1.3.43.zip
Then replace those files in wp-content/themes/generatepress.
Been looking into this frantically hoping I didn't overlook something, but I have no idea what would cause that error. That function is only called once, and that error means it's called twice somewhere. Super strange.
Looks like it was an issue with Child Theme Configurator. I deleted it and then went back and recreated the child theme and it works now and I have the newest gp-premium. That was wierd. I have a feeling it might happen again though - but I've updated many times and have had no issues before.
That is weird, it must have copied the function including the name so it was called twice.
I've added a check in the next version to prevent it from happening again, but it definitely seems like a bug in the configurator you used.
Glad your site is back :)
Me too, thanks as always for the help!
No problem :)
Hi Tom,
Cannot update premium plugin. Authorisation failed.
Any ideas?
Ted
