    Hi awesome support team!

I’m a new GP user and I’m loving it!!!

I’m having an issue getting an element to work as I would like. The theme I’ve selected has an element called Single Post Navigation which shows last post and next post at the bottom of all my posts. In the ‘dynamic options’ section there is a button to add ‘in same term’, and then in the Taxonomy section I’ve added ‘category’, so it shows posts in the same category. But it’s still showing posts in all different categories.

    Can you help?

    Here’s a couple of screenshots;

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Jo,

For reference, can you provide the link to the site in question?

Hi Fernando, sure. I’m in a staging version of my site as I’ve been swapping the theme over. Hoping to go live this afternoon! 🙂

Can you check if these two posts have any category in common?:

No categories in common. I did check that as on my current site I have a category for ‘latest posts’ which I may not need on the new site and some have that category in common. But none of the examples I gave you have that category or any categories in common. I’m just about to do a merge with my live site and make the staging site live. Perhaps when it’s out of the staging environment that might fix it?

I’ll come back and comment here when it’s live 🙂

    Hi there,

in the Single Post navigation, the Container with featured image has the link and so does the Post Title.
But the Post Title link has not been set to Same Term, can you set that to Same term as well ?

Hi David, ok I did that. All three items are now set to same term, but it’s still not showing the same category. I cleared the cache to check, but still nothing. Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help with this! 🙂

    Hi Jo,

I just checked, the settings seem correct, it works nicely on front end.

If you are seeing anything strange, please tell us how to replicate the issue.

Hi Ying, thanks for your response. The issue is that the navigation is still showing posts from other categories.

How do I get it to only show posts from the same categories?

    Thanks. Jo

That’s odd. To test, can you try creating a new Block Element – Post Navigation? Choose a template so you wont need to create one from scratch, and set the dynamic sources and links to be “in the same term”.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Fernando, it gave me the exact same results. It’s showing posts by date order not by category. I’ve checked all my categories are working correctly and posts are within categories and it all looks correct. Is there anything else I can try?
