Custom header not displaying for Woo page

I am experiencing the exact same problem as reported in the following thread by Fernando:
A test header I created displays fine if selected as the custom header on any of my Woo category pages.
However, if the same header is selected (or any other I create) on my shop page it does not display.

go to the Page Header > Global Options and assign the page header to Post Type Archives > Products
