create new meta data for all post
12 replies · Started by iamarghya on June 29, 2022
It is kind of a job news website and this is a content template block so I am just asking if I can add every job application's last date in the content template as dynamic metadata. As every job will have a different last date of registration I just want to add that date for each post in I think either below the published date or beside that is that possible? I really wanna do that🥺
Hi there,
I believe using custom fields is what you are looking for.
You can Google "custom fields wordpress" to see how they work and some examples.
Hope this helps :)
Ya, I saw but can't you help me with the code?🙂
What code?
Once you've created the required custom field, you can use GB's dynamic data option to include it in your content template:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/dynamic-data/
Here is a similar example:

Actually, I want to show the last application date for each post so how can I create that metadata?
I mean how to create that custom field...
Would this "last application date" be entered manually?
Then the solution I described in the previous reply would work.
Setting up the custom field is a not a theme specific thing so we cannot provide full step by step solution here - it should be in the video though.
See this is a job vacancy news website so there will be different last application dates for each post and I want to show individual posts' last application date on the blog page with the post so what will be the best solution I don't know much about the custom field, a little starter help will be appreciated.

I've already provided that in my replies above.
Custom field is a WP core feature so there should be a lots of helpful articles and tutorials on google as well.
Here is another video that should help:

what solution to this reply can u point me once again I got confused. And Yes the last application date for each post will be added manually but this will show on my blog page after the published date as u can see if this is what the solution u told, can u point me once again plz
Did you watch the video above?

So instead of the subtitle custom field as shown there, you would create one for last-application-date.
Then you can pull that using the GB's dynamic data as shown in the video.
There is enough information above for you to start so you just need to go through them all and get it started.
Yep now I got clear let me try I will ask u if I got and problem.
You know I am dumb I thought it is a very tough process and got panicked, thank you for understanding me I did it and can u go check for me once?
No problem :)
