Couple of issues

You can delete them inside the "Text" tab within the editor.

As for the anchors, we made quite a few improvements to the smooth scroll in GPP 1.7-beta.2. You can test it if you'd like: https://generatepress.com/gp-premium-1-7/

Thanks Tom, I've ticked the receive beta updates, but am not getting them come through, so can't test the new smooth scroll.

check the WordPress Dashboard > Updates instead of the Plugin itself, sometimes it appears there without notification.

Jamal here had a similar issue he mentions disabling some plugins triggered the update. Something which Tom is looking in to, but it seems to be very random:

I disabled all plugins, but still no luck. Any other ideas?

Aside of hammering the Check Again button - try clearing any caches plugin and server side.

Also, when clicking on the menu links the anchor takes the links to the center on the section, which doesn’t really work on mobile, how do I get it to work so it stops at the top?
