Hi Tom, I had no idea of what you asked me so I googled and downloaded this plug-in. I sent you some info via your contact page. I hope that was what you needed. Sorry if I didn't understand even this much. x_x

Please see my Posts-> How to Make Your Own website

Hey Rachel, your URLs in "Settings > General" seem to be using http:// as well, even though you're loading your page over https://. Can you try updating your URLs in "Settings > General" to https://?

Still seeing no content in sections on one of my key websites. Settings are there, content shows nothing. I cleared the browser cache (about 10 times) and all the WordPress caches I could find (maybe missed some?). I don't think it's a mixed content issue. Any other suggestions?

Les - I assume you're Four Columns? The entire content area is missing, but there's no javascript errors on the page. Can you try deactivating your plugins one by one to see if there's a conflict somewhere?

Thank you, Tom. I added you as a user and sent you the details on your contact page under account issue.

Problem solved! The latest MaxButtons upgrade was the culprit. I checked plugins one-by-one (deactivate plugin, clear browser cache, refresh page, go to a section to see what happens) and found that with the MaxButtons plugin deactivated, content in sections gloriously reappeared.

Tip for other users: if you use the MaxButtons plugin, do not upgrade to v 7.2 if you build pages using Sections with Generate Press. I did not suspect MaxButtons at first because I am using it on other sites with no issue. But the version on my other sites is 7.1.3

Thank you again, Tom and your support team, for all of your help. I came to Generate Press because I like the theme. Now I am a lifer because of the strong community and the great support.

No problem at all! Thanks for debugging and reporting back! :)

Hi Tom.

I have changed to https:// in WP settings but it is breaking the site - the only way i can revert is to do it in the database.

I am getting the following error:
"This page isn’t working - [site name] redirected you too many times"

Any ideas why it is breaking?

Kind regards.

Lee

I would check with your hosting company - if the site has an SSL certificate, it shouldn't break anything. There might be a redirect happening on the server-side of things they need to clear up.

Hey Tom,

Is this what you mean? Just add the s after http? I did, so I hope it doesn't do something weird later on?

Also YES, Les Black was correct. I disabled the MaxButtons and my post (using sections) is working again. There's the box! There's all my pictures and words and lovely things :P

Thank you Tom and David for helping us! I always get quick answers here on the forum. I'm very glad someone else had this issue.

Aha! I'll have to look at that plugin to see if there's some sort of obvious code incompatibility.

Hi,
I have the same problem with missing editing features and content in section mode when MaxButtons Pro is active. My workaround is to deactivate MaxButtons when I need to edit a section. It is working at the moment. However, what is the status of a permanent solution? Do you review and fix, or do I have to ask MaxButton for a solution to the problem?

I need to contact them to see if something changed recently in their plugin. We haven't made any adjustments to Sections in a while.

It looks like MaxButtons just released an update that should fix this :)
