child theme deactivates
6 replies · Started by Uwe on May 28, 2017
hi Tom
ended up grabbing your Premium version, thanks a million, all really nice to work with.
I used the Child theme to make one tweak of a custom Shop-redirect in Woo.
Worked well.
Somehow the child theme doesn't want to stay active.. it seems to slip out for coffee regularly and needs manual disciplining to get back in line each time...
Any idea from prior experience maybe why it could be deactivating on its own?
thanks chief

Hi there,
Could you check if the info in this post is any helpful at all?

Let us know :)
Never heard of that.. So you activate the child theme, and when you come back later, the parent theme is activated?
yes Tom, that's what happens.
thanks for the fast response guys by the way, much appreciated
I read the other thread and am trying something now..
Had Autoptimize running with WP-Rocket. I DID clear the WP-Rocket cache after each disable/enable of whatever along the way, but had disabled AO sometime during the build process.
Just turned that back on and saw that there is data stuck in that cache too. Clearing that and deactivating again (won't be using this going forward) then we will see if that was it.
I will report back.
morning Tom
clearing out Autoptimize and then deactivating it again, then switching Child back on seems to have fixed the issue. Has stayed active all day.
cheers
Glad it's fixed :)
