[Support request] Changes to Blog layout in customizer

I am creating a new site and I’m finding that some update that happened recently has completely changed the “add header” feature to the individual blog posts. I have to create headers somewhere else, and there’s no clear way to attach it to the page/post. What happened to the old way?

Also, it seems there’s only one option of showing either the blog excerpt or the full blog post content. When I select excerpt, that is ALL I see when I click into the actual post. If I turn on “full post”, then I see the full post on the main blog landing page which I don’t want. I used to be able to show the excerpt on the main blog page and the full article on the post – but they seem to be merged and I have only one choice.

Yes the page header add-on was re-written in GPP 1.4.

The new way is supposed to better and more user friendly, but you can have the old way back as well if you prefer: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/generate_page_header_legacy_metabox/

As for the excerpt issue, that’s weird because nothing has changed in the last version.

Excerpt should only work on the main blog page but single posts should always show the full content.

Can you provide a link to the single posts that’s only showing excerpt?
