Can't customize
7 replies · Started by Stewart on May 19, 2018
Can't customize my site if I'm using your theme-- if I click the customize button the left-hand sidebar pops up with a note that I'm customizing my website, but there is nothing else. The default Wordpress themes work fine this way.
Problem may stem from the fact that I started work on the site before the domain name propagated, so I was using an address composed of its ip address plus the /~cpanel username. I had this problem before with an earlier site but changing the URL in the Wordpress settings section fixed it.
I've reinstalled Wordpress but no change.
Hi Stewart, some advice is provider here:
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/activating-gpprem-kills-customiser/#post-564605
This doesn't seem relevant
Have you tried deactivating your plugins one by one to rule out a plugin conflict?
It could also be a memory limit issue: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/increasing-php-memory-limit/
Let me know :)
I added the code in the article to increase the memory but no change. I have several other sites with this theme but don't have this problem. I'm going to use another theme, not because I don't like yours but because it suits this client more, but I'll reinstall your theme and see if that helps
Sounds good - let me know if you continue to have issues.
Changed php version on my server to 7.0 -- that fixed it.
Hi Stewart, glad you got it resolved.
