Cannot install GeneratePress

I cannot install GeneratePress in a new WP install. When I upload the plugin, I get the message:
"The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin installation failed."
Yeah, I know the doc says to install the add-ons and not the plugin, but the add-ons are not to be seen in my account. Outdated doc perhaps?
GeneratePress does not show up in WP Add New Plugin as well.
The thing is, I installed GeneratePress in another site a few days ago with no problem.
Any suggestions?

GeneratePress itself is a theme: https://generatepress.com/install-generatepress/
GP Premium is the plugin, which can be downloaded in your account area: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-gp-premium/

That makes sense. I got confused by one being a theme and one being a plugin.
